I was having lots of mood swings everyday, (What you would call ultra rapid cycling--more mixed, agitated states than happy manic states) Lithium orotate was better than any medication I was ever prescribed by any doctor. There is a lot written about lithium orotate in books about alternative medicines. Even though it is much safer and has been shown to be non toxic, if anyone plans on taking it over a long term I would suggest they do so under the care of a doctor. Blood level checks every once in a while aren't a bad idea either.
